An adorable story about a spunky third grade girl. It's both funny and touching. Kids (and adults) will enjoy reading about Muriel and her adventures. It's also a wonderful read-aloud book. It would make a great birthday or holiday gift.
Muriel Robbin's Fact Book is a delightful reading experience in every way. It is like William Goldman's Princess Bride for kids - I laughed out loud many times, calling my family members over to hear snippets, and I choked up at the ending because it was so perfect, heartwarming, and satisfying. Muriel and her brother Gibs are both characters I will never forget. This book is fresh, quirky, and whimsical, and the story gives the reader a rollicking good time. It has a great message about the power of community and the wonderful gift of literacy. It would made an excellent read-aloud even for children perfectly capable of reading it themselves because then the laughs and excitement could be shared. I highly recommend this book!
