"The 50 / 60 Kid - A Palo Alto Dreamer" I am 85 years old and love settling down to read a good book. I got several great books for Christmas, but your book looked so enticing that I have been enjoying it every afternoon, rejecting my TIME magazine and my unfinished morning paper for the luxury of pure enjoyment. At first I thought I would just skim the chapters, but find I want to read every word. Jane, you did such a good job of story telling, plus colorful descriptive narratives that it has done what you hoped for: It has brought back memories of my own childhood, along with those of my children. You have so much you haven't yet told us about; thank you for sharing your young years with all of us. So I say, "Write on."

"The 50/60 Kid A Palo Alto Dreamer" A wonderful book for all ages, this book illustrates the simple truths of being a child growing up in the fifties and sixties. In an area that has grown such as the San Francisco bay area has people often forget or even have no idea that it too was once a small town sort of place, this book brings that fact to life. From the small mom and pops stores the author speaks of to the fields surrounding her childhood home, the fact that even the bustling silicon valley was a rural hometown USA scene of budding cities and townships is delightfully portrayed. The short yet descriptive chapters make this book fun to read with your children or alone to bring one back to their own childhood.
