Images of people with disabilities included in their faith community, with commentary on issues of disability and inclusion. The original images were developed as a way to open discussion about inclusion in the Twin Cities (Minnesota) Jewish community and bring the issue out in the open through an exhibit in February 2011. Discussion guides for this book are now available as "Everybody's Talking About A Part or Apart".

Jane Straus has given a beautiful gift to the interfaith community in offering this helpful insight into a population group feared and not understood and so often excluded from full participation. Even though its a difficult subject to talk about, its a must if we are serious about God's love for all children. As a long time child advocate within the interfaith community, I heartily recommend this excellent work, sensitively prepared, for all congregations.
Never tooting her own horn, Ms Strauss has single handedly done more for INCLUSION in the religious and disability communities than any person I have ever known. Her book "A Part or Apart?" invites loving, compassionate and frank communication; as well as helps us to see that each of us can and should be more, do more and help more in enabling INCLUSION. Personal in the way only a mother's eye can know, she willing shares her vision with us. Read and see.
