The book’s emphasis is on the philosophy of immortalism, playfulness, and the enjoyment of the endless possibilities life in this universe has to offer. When we are no longer bound by a fear of death we can become truly self-actualized by gaining the courage to explore different facets of ourselves and our world. Drawing from Robert Coon, Carl Jung, and assorted mystical sources, Dr. Lloyd makes a compelling case for a worldwide shift in consciousness from fear, mindless competition, and an unhealthy obsession with the morbid to cheer, love, gratitude, cooperation and everlasting life. The book differs from typical New Age fare. It is certainly not a new idea in the Daoist tradition, but it also appears in various guises in Christianity, Judaism, and the various sects of the Indian subcontinent. Quoting Skarin, Lloyd says “death is the dingy back door entrance to the heavenly realms.”
