"Excellent advice, readable and inspiring!" I received this book after seeing Jared speak on this topic at a Boston Area "No Fluff Just Stuff" conference (attend one if you can - they're excellent). The book is a "deeper dive" into practical advice and stories about how to advance your career and keep it on track. I find it motivating to read some of the practical ideas, and find myself agreeing with all or most of the principals outlined. It's never too "heavy" or impractical (IMHO), and the book lends itself to a more casual style of reading than a hardcore technical book. Especially in a tough economy, it's more important than ever to nourish your own career; reading this book would be a great start.

I work in the computer and technology field (which is what this book is designed to help with), so thought I would have a flick through it out of curiosty. I found it extremely useful, and I think a lot of the advice in there can be applied to people who work in a variety of different fields, not just technology. bird box camera

I must say that this book is a motivating read. My friend recommended I have a read of it when I become stuck in a rut with my life and career. There are some really good tips and advice to follow to get you inspired and back on track. Worth a read. Pet Food Coupons

"Inspiring Book" In his book, Jared Richardson guides us through the process of identifying our career goals and provides practical ideas on how to achieve them. He discusses the importance of selecting our goals and learning new technologies, but more importantly, focuses on the need to share these experiences. Career 2.0 is an excellent book that will motivate and inspire you to take control of you own career. But of course, this will only happen if you want it to happen. Weight loss pills for women

As an attendee of many of Jared's talks, owner of Ship It! and Career 2.0, I can say that his books are easy to read and full of insight. If you are already insightful and wise, some of this may be common sense but still useful. His work emphasizes the non-technical part of your work: what to focus on, things to make yourself visible, etc. Regards, bob @ switzerland ski resorts

"Top Author and great read." Lots of good advice here. Take control of your life — that is precisely the theme of the talk that Jared Richardson presented at Twin cities JUG. He addressed the key point of whether your career is a random product of your manager’s whims or companies needs, and provided some proven strategies to take control of your career. If you work in IT you NEED this book! Regards, Paul @ Hawaii Jeep Rental | Hawaii Car Rental | Maui Car Rental

Excellent read! Although it is written for people with an IT background, the advice given is suitable for any field, and is a fantastic book on motivation. Too many people find themselves in middle age wondering where did it all go wrong? This book makes you pull up your socks and find a direction. As the other reviewers have said, this one should not be missed! Paul @ collar stiffeners

I have been looking for something like this for a while, and enjoy any type of motivation book. I think if you believe in your goals you can really achieve anything you want. I left my job working in IT to start my own Affordable SEO Web Design company, and I have never looked back. I think with the current recession, this book can help heal an otherwise demotivated mind!

Agree with the last reviewer, found this one very hard to put down! Usually prefer to read magazines on the latest Celebrity mishaps and celebrity hairstyles, but found this set out in laymens terms. Enjoyed it and recommend to anyone.

Had one last chapter to read before I could leave my complete review. I have to say anyone out there that thinks they are stuck in the career, or even at a sticking point in their life, really needs to look at this book. Ive been a Hyundai car sales rep for years and an avid Hyundai fan and this book has given me the push to go for promotion. Well recommended!
