Sep 16, 2009"Daughters of Digital Alchemy by Jason Beam" “Only fools go where Angels fear to tread.” Is the message at the beginning of the book, Daughters of Digital Alchemy by Jason Beam. The book is a quest of illustrations that submerges you into the artist, Jason Beam’s analysis of his alchemy in the modern digital age. Whether the goal of alchemy in the digital realm has been met will be left to the viewer of some disturbing, yet illuminating fleshy unique places where even Angels would fear.
Aug 25, 2009"Digital Artist Jason Beam" I am impressed with the quality of Jason Beams book, not just the images that it contains but also with the book itself. The Daughters of Digital Alchemy is a wonderful hardcover book that features one of Jason’s most popular images, Fallen on the front cover. This is really the first time that I’ve ever seen this particular image close up and really it is quite stunning. The printing quality of the pages inside the book is fantastic too. Every image inside is reproduced to the highest standard and you are able to see so many of the subtle details that Jason likes to add to his work. If you are new to the work of Jason Beam and you aren’t really sure about purchasing any of his available prints then I strongly recommend the purchase of the book. It is a great way to introduce yourself to the vision and artistic works of this amazing digital artist.
Aug 14, 2009"Dark and Dangerous Beauty" I have a fascination with the artwork of Jason Beam. Not only is Jason’s art gothic, surreal, and dark, it also grips the viewer with a visceral passion. This passion is so primal that it bleeds and screams from his work demanding one’s full awareness. This hardbound book is 48 pages and features 22 pieces of Jason Beam’s most popular Digital art plus commentary from writers, filmmakers, models and of course the man himself. I bought one of the first 250 copies which (lucky me) was signed and numbered. This book is gorgeous, and worth every penny. The artwork is stunning, the commentary is insightful, the overall product is well made and when placing it on your hands you know deep inside that it is something you will keep forever as a cherished possession. It is beauty, dark and dangerous beauty, that is bound, and kept for your pleasure. For those of you who haven't gotten to know Jason Beam, he is a dark digital artist who actually lives in... More > Great Falls, Montana. If you are a goth enthusiast you have probably heard of him or at the very least have seen his work in many gothic and horror magazines. You can check out the rest of his work at: http://www.jasonbeamstudios.com I am very impressed with this comprehensive collection of artwork by my one of my favorite artists. My only complaint would be, I want more. You will find this on my coffee table, and it would be a shame if I didn't find it on yours.< Less
Jul 22, 2009"Beautiful artwork and style" Jason Beam's first book, Daughters of Digital Alchemy, is a treasure trove of stunning gothic imagery. His unique style blends photography, painting, photo manipulation, and hand-drawn artwork into a mesmerizing dark collage. This book, which takes 22 of his finest works and compiles them together for the first time, is not only amazing to look at, but a good deal. Most of these pieces cost $25 or more, so getting 22 of them for the cost of this book is pretty amazing. Each piece is accompanied by text. Some are written by the models in the pieces, while others are written by fellow artists, authors, and associates of Mr. Beam. They each focus on the artwork, tell a related tale, or simply comment on the image. This is an amazing coffee table book, well worth the cost. Fans of gothic art should definately pick up a copy today.
Apr 22, 2007"Alluring Illumination of Magnificent Talent " Jason Beam has done it again; he has developed an overly superb work of art in the ultimate collection of his work. Each piece represented in the book is as vibrant as the original prints, only smaller of course. The beauty of his talented mystic peels from the pages like a living demonstration of sheer, sensual dreams and imagination. Legends and amazing fantasy brought to life in the mind of a talented artist. Along with the collection of Mr. Breams brilliant work, is a well written personal description written by fellow artists, writers, & other artistically talented individuals. The words delve into the minds of some of Beam's biggest fans and their personal interpretations of his desirable pieces. It's a montage of dreams, lustful beauty, fantasy, imagination, and majestic displays of passion all in one book. Overall, it is a must have in any collection. It's a possession worth sharing with house guests and friends.... More > In my opinion, as an artist, there has never been such intrigue & exquisit beauty on paper...< Less
