Bought this back in early 2016. Having had a long time to read through, apply, and critique, this is probably one of the most creative RPG sourcebooks I've ever read, and the writing is witty and the artwork very well-done. I've read many a tome by Gygax, and many others of his ilk. This ranks right up there, and the wordsmithing in it is very adept. You will be smarter and more creative just for having read it; even a mere touch could very well bring you good luck and fortune. All kinds of ideas will brim from your own mellon once you get into the flow of the book, or you can use the ideas directly without changes (as sad as that sounds). JS needs to bring v. 2 out of this book, and I'm also watching his Operation Unfathomable as another testament to his unfettered imagination, or perhaps his inability to find anything better to do, maybe both. What's next for JS? Movies? A full RPG? Music videos? Hitching his wagon to some franchise and wildly popular on-line RPG? Resorting to... More > selling his old artwork on Etsy to pay for new graph paper? Forsooth, no!< Less

I might be viewed as biased since I contributed some of the art to this book, but even without my contribution I would love this book. It's great for people who like gonzo fantasy RPGs since there are hundreds of tables in the book for determining everything from what some random villain's motivations might be to the contents of that Lich Lord's sock drawer. Writers of weird fantasy fiction or even those who just enjoy particularly peculiar daydreams will also find a lot to spark the imagination in here.

Bought this a while back. It's served as a great source of inspiration for little details in games. It's well written and funny.
