The Brahma Sutras systematize and summarize the philosophical and spiritual ideas in the Upanishads in 555 aphoristic verses in four chapters. These verses are about the concept of Ultimate Reality called Brahman. Unlike the Advaita monism of Sankara, Vishishtadvaita of Ramanuja is non-dualism of the qualified whole, in which Brahman alone exists, but is characterized by multiplicity.
