Saints and Sayings presents life stories of four people who inspired a spiritual awakening in India and were responsible for founding the Ramakrishna Mission in India and abroad. Ramakrishna was a God realized avatar who taught many young people India’s spiritual wisdom. Vivekananda was his key disciple who spread the teachings of Vedanta to the West. Brahmananda was the first president of the Ramakrishna mission in India. Sarada Devi was the wife of Ramakrishna whose simple love maintained the inspiration and unity of the monks. Most of the 1120 sayings of Ramakrishna were recorded by Mahendranath Gupta during interviews with devotees.
