After he composed the Mahabharata Vyasa found no peace of mind. Narada told him to described the qualities and pastimes of the Supreme Lord to find mental peace and bring joy to the devotees. Vyasa composed the Bhagavata Purana and taught it to his son Suka, who narrated it to King Parikshita.The Bhagavata Purana is a living embodiment of the Supreme Lord.
