While a war is raging in Vietnam, two young, American servicemen find themselves stationed in Bangkok, Thailand.  Although they are baffled by their assignment, the two men get acquainted with their new home.  While Anthony wants to see the cultural aspect of the city, his partner Greg is more interested in the immoral services the city offers.      Greg realizes that he and his partner are complete opposites, so, in an attempt to bring Anthony to his side, he arranges a meeting between Anthony and a call girl he met in the lobby.  Anthony is disgusted to think of her job and her young age and instead begins to date her.  On one of their dates, they attend the Loi Krathong, a beautiful Thai festival in which people send krathongs down the river to honor the Mother of the Waters.      In between their carefree life in Bangkok, Greg and Anthony must fly into Laos on occasion where they load the dead bodies of... More > American servicemen onto a cargo plane.  They find their duty baffling and somewhat disturbing.      When the two men discover the truth behind the young call girl and her younger charge, they rent an apartment for themselves and one for the girls so that they can protect the girls.     Then the two men make an incredible discovery that changes their concept of the war and their allegience. < Less
