Based on a true story . . . This affair took place during the turn of the 20th century against a backdrop of a high class Washington society, affluent Irish-Catholic immigrants living the good life. A young woman by the name of Mary would attend seminary school and with her charity conscious parents would fellowship with seminarians and other clergy . . . . ultimately culminating in young, unmarried Mary’s pregnancy. In disgrace, young Mary was told by her parents to leave town, which she did, and later gave birth to a baby boy on April 19th, 1903. An affair between a young woman of high social status in the Washington, DC aristocracy and a priest became a secret to be held for many years. This would affect each generation thereafter by that kept secret and tell in gripping detail how much the love, lies, and torment played a part.
