"A great tale" Again I have been bowled over by such wonderful storytelling. Padric, a character born within another story (Lily, The Fair One), is the centrepiece of a fantastic tale from the very beginning, compelling the reader to turn every page as fast as possible. The recollections of the prologue captures the imagination and spurs the story forward in a successful and truly fabulous way. The observations of nature and myth bring together a story full of mystery and magic, to include fairies, gnomes and pixies - to mention only a few fantastical ingredients. Such clever use of language and ideas harness the mind, where story upon story mix and match, forward and back, to make a pot filled with magical promise. Its easy to read style hides its inner sophistication where moral lessons are spun in such a way as to show how the ghosts of guilt can ruin our lives if we do not choose the right path. Choice is only one theme threaded through this story but it also houses many... More > shocks and surprises, twists and turns. I particularly liked the use of transforming transgressors into other forms until lessons were learned...although the thought of being buried alive is enough to keep me on the straight and narrow! A magnificent tale I would recommend to anyone, which I, for one, would love Jean to expand - Padric, what a hero! Delightful. "Re: A great tale" Julie, Thank you very much for the great review. I was very pleased and somewhat surprised by the wonderful comments. I had been considering editing and republishing Padric, I was not sure it was ready. Sometimes we can not leave well enough alone. Thank you again, I am looking forward to reading Invasion.
