This second collection of Jean Le Clercq's poems again illustrates his wide experience of the world and observation of human nature and behaviour - stretching from ants to zeal, Mugabe to the Turner Prize, penguins to politics, and even about not learning French.
In one of these poems, he writes: “The reflections of people well known are often surprisingly lame”. Well, Jean is not that well-known (yet) so his poems are not only far from lame, they positively ooze a breath of fresh air with their unfettered truth and lancing insight.
