Does, "'Till death do us part," mean that a man or woman should stay in a loveless marriage? During the turbulent 1960s, high school sweethearts Annie and Jimmy fall in love but part after graduation. Reunited, they are consumed by their unforgotten love and their commitments to unhappy marriages. Verbally beaten down by an alcoholic husband, Annie's journey through life will lead her to discover her own strengths and self worth. But will it lead her back to Jimmy one final time?

Aug 3, 2014The book Reunions was engaging and stimulating. Makes you think about your own personal experiences as it pulls you into the life of Annie and Jimmy. Life is too short to live in a dysfunctional abusive relationship. Annie is courageously strong and the love for her children is well noted throughout the novel. I literally had to put the book down in the airport as I neared the end to not embarrass myself by sobbing in public. Excellent novel and well written Jeanie! Looking forward to Reunions II.
Oct 15, 2013This is the first time I have ever written a review and felt I had to do it with Reunions. Jeanie has a free flowing style of writing that pulls you in from the very beginning, and before long you feel as if you are actually inside Annie's head and living each step of her life with her. Her determination to be independent and do the very best for her children, also to do what's right and follow her heart. Reunions makes you laugh in places, makes you empathise in places, and also makes you want to cry in places. Most important you find yourself cheering Annie on to find the commitment and love she needs and deserves and which she is free to show all. I recommend this book to anyone who knows or wants to know how to follow your heart. By Alison Pugliese
Sep 3, 2013Jeanie's book Reunions evokes feelings, times, music, people, food and places. It takes the reader on a roller coaster of emotions back through the past, whilst keeping it as fresh as if it were happening right now. This is story telling at it's best, and I feel as if I know Annie and all the decisions she has to make as if she were a very good friend. Her light, goodness, love and strength for Jimmy and her children just shines through at every turn of the page no matter what she was suffering. The people of Wisconsin have the added bonus of knowing all of the places that are described and must go on a magical trip down memory lane while reading. People worldwide will identify with feelings of love, struggles, heartbreak and loss and wont fail to take Annie into their hearts.Jeanie is an amazingly descriptive and talented writer, and I look forward to reading Reunions 11: And Life Goes On. Jeanie you light up many lives with your brilliant and loving spirit. The most awesome lesson you... More > teach us all is that the most important thing in this life and after is love. Anyone who purchases Reunions will have their lives and those of their loved ones enriched and counting their blessings long after the covers are closed. This is a book to be read, reread and read all over again. Most deservedly 5 STAR***** Caroline Pugliese Wales (UK)< Less
Nov 27, 2012I recently met the author, Jeanie LeClaire at the campgrounds she refers to in her book. Yes, that campground really does exist! My husband and I were invited to her site to talk and get to know each other over a campfire. Jeanie speaks her mind and is very playful with people and I found that so fun and refreshing. We soon learned that Jeanie wrote a book, and we told her we would have to buy and read it! What a surprise! After the first couple of chapters, I forgot about trying to picture Jeanie composing the book, and became totally involved with the pace, and the characters. The book became a source of a reward to myself to get a task done around the house. I do this thing, then I get to read another chapter, I would tell myself. I thought of the characters while working around the house. The book "had me". ReUnions brought me to a time when we dated in the 70's and so many visions were stirred up to remind me of the past, dating, high school and getting married. It was... More > a familiar journey for myself as I followed Anne's life, struggles, and most exciting her desire to be independent and see how much strength she found within herself. None of this would mean anything if the book did not flow well and was so well written. It is hard to keep my attention, and this book grabbed me from page 1 and carried me through to the last page.
