Harvey, spoken memories. He grew up in the Harvey Castle in the mid 1800s and built a life influenced by his father, Capt. Joseph Hale Harvey,and mother, Louise Destrehan of the Destrehan Plantation. Horace Harvey played a major role in developing the Harvey Canal into the Intracoastal Waterway it is today.
