Ridiculous "journal" that acted as a mouthpiece for Jeffrey Woodward to promote his fringe theories about so-called "tanka prose". Woodward's views, in their assertion that for 1,000 years the Japanese have been unable to accurately study/describe their own literature, are offensive and borderline-racist. Especially given Woodward's own idiotic assumptions about and general ignorance of Japanese literature, history and language. I can't emphasize enough how bad this book is. Better, more reliable material is available free online (try scholar.google.com), so $5 is a rip-off. (Given what happened over at http://www.lulu.com/shop/jeffrey-woodward-ed/the-tanka-prose-anthology/paperback/product-3493914.html, I can't help but thinking that my posting this review will probably get reviews and user-ratings disabled on this page. I guess this author doesn't like his customers expressing their opinions on his work openly, but that is unfortunately how the free market works.)
