Part 2 of an inspirational book about extraordinary people, drawing on the author’s 33 years of experience of daily Morning and Evening Prayer, calendar of saints in hand. The subjects are saints and other holy Christian men and women from every continent except Antarctica, from many different denominations, and from many different eras (from contemporaries of Jesus to the end of the 20th century). The information is laid out reference-style, for ease of consultation, with a consolidated index covering both volumes. Entries give key biographical facts, to place the subjects in their own time in history and geographical location, plus a concise write-up to explain what is special about each individual. The book focuses on these guys as real people rather than on the myths and legends which have often sprung up their memory across the centuries.
