Catherine is not who we expect her to be. On the surface she is an over privileged, New York socialite, who is disconnected from the "real world." But as we get to know her, we learn that there is much to her than what a quick glimpse might reveal. While it is true that she is used to the fine restaurants, expensive clothing, and materialism of a privileged upbringing, it is also clear that is much more conscious of her own life than it might appear--and her life is not as perfect either. The is a novel about character, understanding yourself, and trying to find other souls with which to connect in life. Litteral has an incredible talent for creating characters and she does so in this novella with candor, sensitivity, and restraint.

I could definitely relate to Catherine and her anxiety disorder. Jennifer's characters seem so realistic that you wish that they could jump right out of the book. i would recommend this book to anyone who wants a inside look into the upscale New York life.

Jennifer Litteral does an excellent job weaving together a story that focuses on the not-so-perfect life of a seemingly-perfect New York City teenager. With unexpected twists and dynamic character developments, this story will keep readers entertained and curious about how the main character’s life will unfold. The relationships between the characters are revealed through crafty word choices, and the reader never knows what will happen next. The author’s language is clear and humorous, serving as the perfect mechanism to tell a relatable story. If you are interested in reading a book with a thought-provoking plot, you cannot go wrong with “Amnesty.”

A thrilling novel, full of mystery, humor, conflict, and reality! This book is a favorite. The characters are very three dimensional and the story itself draws me in. I couldn't put it down! Definitely worth buying! I could relate to all of the characters.
