Photographs and words by photographer Jeremy Hogan. Hunger is a Journey to find the real in a post-modern world. Photographer Jeremy Hogan, the son of a Vietnam Veteran, began making photographs at the age of 14. His introduction to photography was the beginning of a journey which would take him around the world. Years later, he edited the photos from his many journeys and culled words from journals to create this book which explores one of the central themes in the history of photography - do images tell the truth and what truths do they tell? Are documentary photographs objective records of fact or are they something more? Hunger starts with the reality of the Vietnam War's consequences on the photographer's father, the son of Arkansas sharecroppers, and takes off from there to explore themes as disparate as punks, Tibetans, war protests, Mongolia, Belarus, Nicaragua, suburbia and Generation X.
