I'm so excited to think that I can make my childrens' favorite items from your menu - for them in my own kitchen! They will be so surprised. I'm thinking of buying a copy of the cookbook for [my daughter who worked at your bakery/cafe]. I think she will like that and it will be a treasured keepsake for the rest of her life to mark her first job and it was at Season's Bakery. How cool is it that someday she can show that book to her children, (should God desire for her to have any), and that she will also be able to defy the gap of time by giving them the same flavors that she tasted and in a sense, recreate that experience in time for her own children... and grandchildren. Food really is amazing in that it can be duplicated and recreated and then experienced in a way that nothing else can. I never really thought about it until reading your book, but what other means can stir multiple senses like food. For example, I can tell my children all about my softball playing years and we... More > can go out and play softball, but I can never recreate that championship team, nor the excitement of making a great play. I can play music for them to hear, but what other sense does it involve? Not quite the same as when I recreate a dish, say oyster stuffing, that my mother used to make for them at Thanksgiving. Now one smell, one taste and they are spilling out stories of times they shared at Thanksgiving with their cousins, grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc. How much I learn from listening to each of these stories and all because of the experience called food! Thank you Jeremy for opening my eyes to this wonderful tool called food. God bless you richly. I'm glad we are friends.< Less
