During his stints as associate editor and editor of The Bulletin of the St. Louis Medical Society in the early 1950s, Jerome Simon contributed 42 editorials. Besides reprinting these writings, this collection includes his presidential inaugural address. The weekly columns wonderfully capture Jerry Simon’s commitment to the medical profession as well as public service and the greater good. They also provide an intriguing snapshot of their times when television and advertising were just beginning to dominate American culture. Most of all, the essays reveal his sense of humor and amusing wit, vividly bringing him to life.
