Tarzan’s Revenge was produced by Sol Lesser through his Principal Pictures and released by Twentieth Century-Fox Film Corporation. The feature was first released on January 7, 1938. It starred Glenn Morris as Tarzan and Eleanor Holm as Eleanor Reed.
For the part of Tarzan, Lou Gehrig, the baseball player, was auditioned, but he “failed to measure up to wild man requirements” (Variety).
Filming commenced in early October 1937 and finished in early November 1937.
Location scenes were filmed at the Century Ranch (20th Century-Fox’s location ranch in the Santa Monica Mountains) and on the 20th Century-Fox Studio backlot.
