If you only read this introduction I want you to know that things do happen for a reason, even if we do not know why. I believe people are put into our lives and it’s up to us to make the most of those encounters. And, that you can find love within the most troubling times or darkest moments in your life, as well as in the lives of others. This is the story of a chance meeting and my commitment to do what that voice in my head, as well as my heart, said was the right thing to do.
I would not wish the last year of Candy’s life on anyone. She lived through “hell on earth”, the death of her unborn child, being diagnosed with cancer, then discovering more about herself, her “real” friends, and the family she never knew she had.

Knowing the author and knowing Candy as I have, reading this book takes me back through each day of her struggles and victories. Her victories came in the ways she was more concerned for those around her than for herself. It's one book I have not been able to put down. Read it straight through and read it again and again. It's like one more visit with our angel on earth. Break out the tissues and settle in. It's one story you don't want to miss a minute of. Looking forward to more books to come from a wonderful friend from beginning to end. Candy would be so proud...I'm sure she is. Thanks Jim. Buy this one or you will miss out on one wonderful "bumpy ride"!
Just finished the book. ~Making Friends with Candy~ Man it's a good one. Weighs heavy on my heart. With swollen eyes, again I thank you for sharing this strong womans journey...empowering! Never take life for granted, each day is a gift!
I just finished reading the book. I laughed and I cried so much. It is beautiful. I'd never seen anyone do what you did for her. Being there without any expectations, just helping someone fight.
