How do we know what we know about God? How can we, as human beings, with our limited vocabularies and our finite intelligence speak meaningfully about the God we encounter in our lives and in Holy Scripture? The answers provided by the Scriptures themselves are the only sure foundation when one begins to build the house that we call Systematic Theology. Like every house, a foundation must be laid, walls must be erected, roof and ceiling must be added, and of course the finishing work must take place.
