The story behind the lives of Gjertru Bogen and Carrie Grindeland, emigrants from Singsås Norway to Hendricks MN. Dedicated to the memory of Gjertrud Johansdatter Hermomoen (1847-1917) who, from a destitute position in Norway, emigrated to America in 1898 and then brought 3 of her 4 children to America. For a woman to accomplish this, in my mind, she deserves the title "Heroine of Hendricks".
