Apr 24, 2012This book is a complete scam and will only end up hurting veterans and their spouses. What the author fails to tell you is that VA Pension Aid & Attenance is an income and net worth based program for veterans below the poverty level. Also by transferring assets around to qualify for this benefit it could lead the you falling in the a Medicaid gap if the veteran needs to be placed into a nursing home. Also, what the author fails to mention is that once the VA finds that you have been hiding assets and income from them they will come after your estate for the over payment. These over payments range from $20,000 to $300,000. I strongly advise those interested in this program for veterans to contact their local county veteran service offices and not these snake oil salesmans. They charge large fees and also use high pressure sales of annuities that result in large commissions. I STRONGLY Advise advoiding anybody from Elder Care. In the end you could find that the services they... More > promised cause more damage then good. Plus, why pay someboyd when you can have your applications completed for free. Also, VA pension is a nicer way of saying veteran's welfare. It's not a traditional pension. Retired military personal receive their pension from DFAS. Save your money and contact a CVSO for free. What this individual is doing violates the VA accreditation agreement. These guys are doing nothing more then trying to profit from a program that was established for America's destitute veterans. Not only are people like Jim Zeigler not only defrauding the people he claims to help but also the American taxpayer. Please know all the rules and regulations before seeing individuals from Elder Law Care.< Less
