The Myolissa technic is a myolissage technique that, with the use of specific manual maneuvers, works towards relaxation of tensed muscle fibres. Its mission is to provide everyone with the ability to relax their tensed muscles in order to soothe the pain resulting from inflammation. The only remedy for inflammation is eliminating the cause. As long as the tense muscle has not been relaxed, it will continue to pull on its attachments and inflammation will only increase. The effect of anti-inflammatory drugs is to reduce inflammation. Their effect is not instantaneous and they do not work on the source of the problem: the tense muscle. If the problem is not corrected, it is only a matter of time before the inflammation returns or increases. Many people complain of stomach pain when they take anti-inflammatories, but these drugs in fact do a good job of complementing self-treatment. If the muscle is totally relaxed, there is no reason why it should become tense again.
