I read this book prior to it being published and am now thrilled I can purchase a bound copy for my Junior high kids. Although, it is not just for them. I started reading the story and was immediately drawn into the life of the protagonist. I could remember all of my own feelings and experiences growing up, and wondered how much my own kids were experiencing some of those as well. But more than that, the story stayed with me so much. Even today, certain headlines bring it back to me - or whenever I pass a group of kids running on the side of the road. I am so glad to see it published and hope it reaches a wider audience.
