"THIS IS A "MUST READ" FOR ELDERLY ADVOCATES AROUND THE WORLD" by Jean James This book was well written, interesting, and easy to understand. It should be read by lawmakers, law enforcement officers, and those who are advocates for the elderly and vulnerable in our society. Do not, for one moment, believe that the criminal code in most countries covers elder abuse and exploitation. It certainly doesn't, and those working for the elderly and in a position to lobby for changes, DEFINITELY should read this book to get a better understanding of how they can best help our aging population.
"Exploitation book is one-of-a-kind." Financial Abuse Of the Elderly; A Detective's Case Files Of Exploitation Crimes caught my interest because it appears to be the only non-fiction on the subject matter that is written by the criminal investigator himself. I enjoyed it because Roubicek presents an easy-read with "True Crime" that frankly, enlightened me to the fact that this is a misunderstood crime by society. Much of the prevention advice is unique, simple and effective and although the cases read like short stories they are the real thing. Good job!
