Jeremiah's one ambition was to be a good man.
Conscripted into his nation's army while still a boy, he was taught that to be good was to obey every order spoken in the name of God, no matter to what atrocities those orders led him.
When he was a boy, he later bitterly says, he believed it. Perhaps then he was still innocent. But over the decades he has become a hated and feared master of a trade he despises with all his heart.
When the land is struck with a terrible plague, Jeremiah embarks on a solitary quest. Overcoming many difficulties, he learns that to save his family and his land, he must conquer the one monster he hoped never to face: Himself.
