The People's Constitution proposes an entirely new model of government. Similar in some ways to the model of government used in Switzerland, i.e a de-centralised federal system, it progresses into the twenty first century and places the well informed citizen at the very heart of all political decision-making - which is, after all, where she belongs.
The constitution also includes a radical new economic model, called EnMo Economics; which suggests that the role of the state is to ensure that everyone has Enough in the way of essentials - everything they need for safe and comfortable lives, in exchange for a modest amount of labour - 20 hours a week. The private sector is free to provide More in the way of non-essentials, for those who want them and are prepared to work more than 20 hours a week.
The first part of the book is given over to a very brief explanation for why it has been written and why the People's Constitution is so very important at this time in history.
