Someone is trying to kill the royal heirs.
For Boris, that's a problem. He's an offworld mercenary working on the isolated planet Dimonah as a royal bodyguard, and the young Prince and Princess are proving to have powerful enemies.
His employers don’t know about his covert work with the exile Hass, but the rebels are suspiciously well informed and it’s not clear who he can trust. Keeping himself and the heirs alive is starting to look impossible, yet the fate of a world may depend on it.
"A strong action/adventure feel, likeable characters, and a coherent political thriller plot... enjoyably fast-paced... extremely accessible to a general readership as well as science fiction fans." - Driftwood manuscripts

I recently finished reading The Ranboen Contract and must say I was thoroughly impressed by the debut offering from this author. The story contains plenty of fast-paced action, and you'll find yourself turning pages at a brisk pace right from page one. The action scenes are well written and move the plot along at an enjoyable pace. As the story advances an increasingly intriguing political scheme unfolds adding true depth to the story and providing believable motivation and justification for the characters actions. The plot has a number of twists and turns, some of which you may see coming, but one in particular totally blindsided me. In my mind I had already predicted how the chapter would end and the story progress, but my predictions were proved wrong in one powerful scene which completely changed the course of the novel. While the story is based in the future, the action takes place on a single planet and as a result could have just as easily have been told in a current day... More > setting which makes this action based political thriller easily accessible to those who are not usually science fiction readers. In all, a thoroughly enjoyable novel and I look forward to more titles by this author.< Less
I brought the digital version of this novel, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It turned out to be much better than I expected, and one of the better novels I've read in the while. An engaging story, and a definite page turner. My only complaint is that it could have benefited by a professional editor, as there were more than the average amount of textual errors. But definitely a good read and well worth the price!
