Intransigence - The Star Voyager Series - Vol. 13A

In this novel RAdm JT Buckton leads an expedition of 3 Alliance DSCs and 1 Diplomatic Ship (DTS-4) deep into the Perseton Empire, to meet with their always dangerous archenemy. When contact with the Persetons is made the admiral and Mr Harry Wonted of the Alliance Diplomatic Corps, are to sit and negotiate a peace treaty. If the task of getting a treaty signed is accomplished and there is a chance of moving even further, then JT is to make every effort to get this long-time enemy to unite with the Alliance of Planets. During this mission RAdm Buckton receives a message advising him to promote Ed Gilbert to Captain and Yllisium "Ears" Organta to Exec (XO) and to turn over command of Pegasus to those two officers. JT is ordered to return to Earth upon completion of this mission; he'll be assigned to the Fleet Admiral's staff and in charge of R&D. Unfortunately Kate is to remain on Pegasus as CMO while the ship heads back to the ZQ to complete the exploration started 3 years ago.
