Col. (Ret.) John G. Napier (1917 – 2003) is a testament to why his was known as the “greatest generation.” Balancing his family life with military service during some of the most difficult times in the history of the United States, Col. Napier spent 30 years serving his country in the United States Air Force. Throughout his career, he worked diligently to ensure that every mission was carried out to the best of his ability while upholding the noble virtues he learned from his rural upbringing in Scottsville, Kentucky of “duty, honor, family, church, and country.” A husband, a father, a grandfather, and a great-grandfather, Col. Napier became lovingly known as “Pop” and, outside of his military service, faithfully supported a large family through some of its most troublesome times.
