This is the story of the restoration of a pipe organ in Somerset UK, built by George Osmond of Taunton, Somerset, around 100 years ago and now restored to its former glory and improved. It is situated in St Decuman's Parish Church, Watchet, Somerset, a church built, as a penance, by one of the knights who killed Thomas Beckett, Archbishop of Canterbury, in 1170 at Canterbury Cathedral, under the orders of the King Henry II. Reginald Fitzurse inherited the manor at nearby Williton, and, in exile in the Holy Land, arranged for the Church to be built.
The organ replaced a small Snetzler instrument that originally stood in Buckingham Palace, London. It has now been moved to Eton College chapel, Eton.
