rosebuds open to the blue eternity of midnight: poems
Usually printed in 3 - 5 business days
Like Marilyn Monroe’s face had a beauty mark an orange is no less perfect when blemished like the dark spots on an old man’s face. The orange called Satsuma is native to Japan and endures sub-freezing temperatures like an old man whose hardships have made him stronger. This exemplifies the Japanese concept of Wabi-sabi which means cultivating aesthetics that appreciate beauty in imperfection. Flowers in a vase seen in sunset light through a window with the shadows of the dried and dead bouquet are still beautiful, just as my age is written in the lines of my face and the salt in my hair.
