Dare to fly… is many separate paths on a journey that we have all taken. The anthology is a collection of questions of life and it is for the reader to know if there could be any answers. Much like your own journey, many startling and difficult emotions come to light yet comfort is still found, now and then. It is not easy-going pap, it dares to take us to some recognisable yet uncomfortable frontiers and we can appreciate the landmarks along the way. Lori-Anne Grim and John Irvine colluded from different spheres to produce this book; their poetic styles are different. Lori is yielding but inquisitive, John is defensive and humorously stoic. Yet there is a shared empathy which allows a flow from one to another to occur without barricades. It is not a huge book, but is a broad and deep one. All the skills of good poetry are evident but the emotions therein are rewarding in their revelation. The book says much and does not fear to hold back. You will get more than you think from reading... More > it.< Less

Poetry is designed to provoke emotion. The poems presented here by the authors are clearly written with passion and boundless enthusiasm. Each line evokes a vivid mental image, a powerful sense, and each poem has solid structure of rhythm essential to contemporary poetry.
