The Science of Weight Loss

ByJohn Josefson

Weight loss isn't brain science. But it's not as easy as some claim. This book doesn't claim to have a magical cure for how to lose weight. It will simply tell you how things work. This book focuses on what's really important: understanding how the body works. In the first chapters, I go through what happens in the body when you lose weight and how food is turned into calories which cause weight gain. Following from this, I take you through the process of burning calories, how to keep track of your weight and stay on track, as well as how to go about it, practically, to lose weight. As a young student, these are issues I had to deal with myself, and I found in the process that it was impossible for me to lose weight before I came to an understanding about how the body actually worked. Taking this as a starting point, I began to investigate this further and document my experiences and findings, eventually resulting in this book, which I hope that others will find equally useful.
