Approaching their 75th wedding anniversary, a Michigan couple reflects on their journey together through much of the 20th century and into the 21st, delighting in the shared memories of places, events, family, friends, careers, travel, and pets that bind a couple together.
An heirloom piece and poignant personal treasure for all generations as well as a universal story of appreciation of life and family.
“Our story begins a long time ago in Detroit, Michigan, more precisely in May, 1934, in the auditorium of Metropolitan Methodist Church where graduating seniors from nearby Highland Park High School were assembled for a rehearsal of their graduation ceremony. The use of an alphabetical seating arrangement placed our central characters: L’Hote (John D.) next to Letts (Harriet A.). Somehow, the use of John D. and Harriet A. in the story to designate our principal characters seems appropriate. The two had never met.”
