The Sensational Swing

This book addresses both the mental and physical aspects of the golf swing. It is about allowing the swing to happen, using both focusing and self-awareness techniques. This book is based not on athletic skill so much as ways to control your mind and body (not having to do with muscle). Optimal energy transfer to the club head is achieved by relaxed forearms and hands, which allow the wrists to function like a frictionless hinge. Any tension in the hands will (i) reduce energy creation by causing early casting and (ii) retard energy transfer through the wrists to the club head. Both anxiety and desire will cause you subconsciously to tense up the hands and forearms. An effective way to avoid tensing up your grip is to focus the mind on a sequence of sensations, which will keep your attention on the right spots at the right time, keep the wrists loose and allow your swing to repeat itself accurately. It is called The Sensational Swing.
