Annála Rioghachta Eireann. Otherwise known as the Annals of the Kingdom of Ireland by the Four Masters, from the earliest period to the year 1616. Edited by John O’Donovan from MSS in the Library of the Royal Irish Academy and of Trinity College Dublin with a translation and copious notes. Royal Irish Academy. Dublin, 1848–51 The annals are an invaluable resource for all those who are studying the history of Ireland and the events leading up to the Flight of the Earls and the eventual Plantation of Ulster. These volumes do not include any events after 1616. The Annals are split into 7 volumes with the final volume being an index to the other six. This volume contains the index to the previous 6 volumes. The index is extremely useful as it allows the researcher to find the relevant person or place quickly within one of the volumes. This is a must have addition to the Annals and completes the collection. For the other volumes see mypastpresent.com
