A fair and detailed analysis of a subject that has largely been viewed as taboo among Catholics and yet has been a source of interest and fascination among the same. Fahey is very careful to distinguish his personal observations and opinions from official Church teaching so as not to give the appearance of any ecclesiastical endorsement (he's a retired priest)of reincarnation. His objective is to support the personal study of the subject for those who wish to pursue it without finding themselves in conflict with Church doctrine. While reincarnation is not a doctrine of the Church, Fahey argues that the possibility of living multiple lives is not entirely incompatible with the essential truths of Christianity concerning life, death, resurrection, sin, redemption, and the afterlife. For someone interested in pursuing the subject from a Christian perspective, this book is an excellent starting point.
