"Before and After 9/11" This is a retrospective by an Englishman of a tour with American friends round Montana and the shores of Lake Erie. Description of sights, events and personal encounters is coloured with understated socio-political comment, often so understated that it is merely implied by the choices of descriptive text, allowing readers to interact from our own life experiences. The end of the book brings us up to date with the author's pain and confusion at the abrupt cutting off of contact by most of his American friends in the paranoia after 9/11.

"Travels in a land that once was America" This is an excellent and thought provoking book; it will make you think about not only your own friendships and relationships, but question the “special relationship” between the UK and USA. and how world events can affect each and every one of us in ways we never thought possible.
