(Cette œuvre est en cours!) (This work is available, as archival, though in-progress.) This begins as dystopian fiction, written in sections of English and French, of a patriarchal line, starting with a grandfather, a cultural conservative, archetype of American populism, individualism, and manhood, killed in 2027, unaware of progeny, then his mixed-race son, a man indicative of greater political phenomena, transitioning in 2046, then the protagonist proper, whose struggle we follow through the year 2073. What constitutes "nationalism", and how this relates to any dystopian aspects of America's past, as portrayed, or its future, as conjectured, are matters of interpretation. The protagonist has aspects of the "anti-hero", along with the stoic optimism of the "socialist realist hero". In all, it is something new. Between the protagonist and the lesser characters, I am fleshing out a "supra-existentialism". Political non-fiction is included at the end, building into the political melodrama following 2016.
