I read this book in one sitting, with a near constant smile on my face and a couple of LOL moments (don't ever try and catch John when he's falling over!). This book contains an account of his stay in an Ayurvedic hospital in South West India for the unconventional treatment of his Multiple Sclerosis. Don't expect any deep explanation of the treatment itself, just a very funny, descriptive journal of his stay. John's writing reminds me of Peter Mayles' in his 'A year in Provence'. Beautifully, comically observed without any intended ridicule to the characters and situation. It is also worth reading if you have MS as John seems to have greatly benefitted from the experience.

An inspirational book that, while concentrating on the MS that the writer suffers from, is just as valid for anyone seeking alternative treatments for other long-term, debilitating conditions. John's writing balances humour with factual information in a format that encourages you to finish the book in one sitting. It challenges conventional wisdom and makes you consider what is important to you and how you would face the challenges that John has had to face. I hope others enjoy and draw comfort from this book.

What an enlightening read! A real insight to Ayurvedic treatment - its benefits and pitfalls for anyone wishing to improve their physical condition. Read about the trials and tribulations faced by John during his month long 'retreat' in India, including skimpy nappies, baking tray Olympic teams and 'the E word'! AS, Ashington, UK

One man's journey coming to terms with living with multiple sclerosis. John's personality and sense of humour shine through as he describes how allopathic and alternative treatments helped him to recover and to understand his condition. An enjoyable and informative read
