Jul 11, 2016At last someone has written the book to bring Christadelphianism into the 21st Century. Jonathan demands hard evidence for his faith and in this book he delivers it. Gone is the wishy-washy jargon infested style of other Christadelphian writers. Gone are the shallow, surface skimming platitudes and empty-headed speculation of the other Christadelphian books and magazines. No more Christadelphian anti-science, anti-intellectualism, anti-Evolution, pro-Flood Geology wilful ignorance xenophobic paranoia that sadly characterises the Christadelphian community of today. In it's place we have a brilliantly concise and carefully reasoned explanation of how the religion can be made to be relevant in our age. This book does far more than tell Christadelphians what they should think. Instead it explains to them HOW to think critically, productively and sensibly. In place of the blind, unthinking fideism that has come to dominate Christadelphian thinking Jonathan connects his religion to the... More > reality of what is actually happening in the World. His faith accepts the many wonderful discoveries of modern science and human understanding and uses them to illustrate the workings of the Creator and the brilliance of his Creation. Christadelphianism has become a religion that is beating an ever more hasty retreat from science and the many problems and challenges that our modern World presents to faith based religion. In this book Jonathan meets these challenges head-on and empowers his readers with the answers and confidence that they need to follow Christ in the 21st Century. Without exaggeration this books makes most other Christadelphian books redundant. It makes their magazines obsolete and the obtuse way that Christadelphian brethren deliver their talks seem facile and irrelevant. This is "Grown up Christadelphianism." This is a Christadelphian methodology that can stop the brain-drain of young people leaving the religion or refusing to be baptised. Jonathan has written the book that makes Christadelphianism make sense. He has written a book to empower and enlighten the religion in an age beset with challenges to faith. He is to be commended for his contribution to the future of Christadelphian thinking. - And in case you think that this is one of Jonathan's friends giving him a friendly review, you are mistaken. I am an Ex-Christadelphian Atheist. But I know a good book when I read one.< Less
