"Fade to Black" I just finished reading "Fade to Black" by Joni Ratts. I have never been so captivated with a book in ages! She grabbed me in the first sentence and never let me down. Her book not only kept the suspense pulling me along, it gave breathing room with a variety of things, such as in depth exposure to the quirks of the human mind, from several angles, as well as the rescue of good and understanding friends, and a few moments here and there to catch my breath, and feel true love, before taking me arond the next bend and into the next balck hole, and off again. WOW! The roller coaster ride was fantastic! An important part of this book is Joni's almost psycic awareness of how people think a and feel, and her ability to show us that, simply and clearly. I love the Epilogue and Afterward which give closure to everything so well. Star Keithley

"Worth the read!" I devoured this book in the first sitting, staying up late to find out how it would end! There is evidence of a creative, insightful voice throughout the book. Joni presents many human qualities in her characters; it is hard not to find at least one to identify with or think you might know in your own life. The pace of the story keeps you hooked right up to the last page.

"Fade to Black" I really liked it, I read it in one sitting because I cared about both women - good character development. The plot carried the book along without any drag and the dialogues were real to the situations. An impressive first novel and excellent story-telling. You go, girl.

" Fade to Black by Joni Ratts" This is a great airplane and/or beach read! Engrossing story, peopled with characters I cared about...made me want to keep reading to find out what happens next. The story ended just where it should, with followup details wrapped up in the epilogue and afterward. I liked knowing what happens to the characters "after the story ends."
