Appendices include tips on casting butterfly specimens in resin. Dr. Jose A. Fadul is currently Full Professor at the De La Salle–College of Saint Benilde. He was formerly one of the Science Education Specialists at the University of the Philippines – Institute for Science and Mathematics Education Development (now National Institute for Science and Mathematics Education Development). Earlier in 1998, Prof. Fadul advised the National Historical Institute that the list in the letter dated 26 October 1894 by Rizal in Epistolario Rizalino No. 124 (Kalaw, 1961) is not a list of butterflies but of sea shells. However, the error continued to spread through the years, prompting him to publish his research on those specimens that Rizal sent and/or received from European entomologists.
