Sometime in the second half of the last century, two people at the opposite sides of the Atlantic Ocean came into possession of the separated halves of an old patchwork quilt. Sandra, a rising star at a large hospital in Boston, Massachussets willingly bought hers at a local flea-market to keep her warm in the approaching New England winter. Sam, a computer specialist in Boston, Lincolnshire reluctantly inherited it as a family heirloom of dubious history.
The magical power of the quilt was that anyone who sleeps under it will have dreams inspired by the individual blocks making up the quilt, as Sandra and Sam begin to realise as the nights pass and fate ensures their professional careers intertwine.
This book tells the story of Sandra and Sam, and of the dreams they have, until the final magical dream reveals the tragic secret of the quilt itself.
